- About the band
- Formed in 2008, The Owls are a 4 piece band from Newcastle, Australia. Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Josh Bailey, bass player Lewis Gillespie, lead guitarist Dan Flegg and drummer Matthew McDonough longed to create a sound which lacked derivative monotony. A unique sound emerged from the bands love of musical variety, comprising elements of dirty blues and alternative rock with liberal lashings of country roots, progressive southern rock sounds and ethereal three-part harmonies, producing an alternative style that proves both dark and melodic.
